CHINHOYI UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY

 

Librarian

Mrs Gloria Kadyamatimba is the University Librarian at Chinhoyi University of Technology (CUT). She holds a Bachelor of Arts General Degree from the University of Zimbabwe and a Master of Library Science Degree from the University of Pittsburgh in the United States of America.

 

She joined CUT in January 2006. Prior to that she was an inaugural lecturer  in the Department of Library and Information Science at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe. She left NUST at the position of Acting Chairperson and Proctor for the Faculty of Communication and Information Science.

 

Previously, she had been Senior Assistant Librarian at NUST Library where she was one of the founding members.

 

Currently she is the treasurer of the Zimbabwe University Libraries Consortium (ZULC) and the inaugural editor of ZULC News, the official newsletter of the consortium.

 

Her professional interests lie in amongst other things digital libraries, open access issues, user information seeking behaviour and she has a passion for information retrieval.

 

Mrs Kadyamatimba is a published fiction as well as non –fiction writer who belongs to the Zimbabwe Women Writers Association, the Zimbabwe Library Association (ZIMLA) and the Zimbabwe University Libraries Consortium.
