Students Affairs
introduction
The students affairs department exists to promote the holistic development of students by intergrating the academics and non-academic spheres of the students life both on and off campus. This is achieved by strengthening the students support systems in the areas of their intellectual, physical, moral, spiritual, social and aesthetic growth to cater for the welfare of university students the students affairs department has the following units speacialised in different facts of students life on campus.
Campus Life and Students Development Office
The responsibilities of the office include ensuring discipline, good order and an atmosphere conducive to academic and non-academic development of students. It also ensures that displinary structures are in place, counselling services are available and the catering services are up to standard.
HIV and AIDS coordinating
Key responsibilities of the office include developing, facilitating, monitoring and evaluating of HIV/AIDS campaigns on campus, counselling and advising students on HIV/AIDS matters and problems and coordinating awareness campaigns.
Ecumenical Chaplaincy
The chaplaincy has a responsibility of promoting and coordinating religions activities on campus including community church services and university special ceremonies. It is also ministries to the spiritual needs of the entire university community (students, staff and families), in times of celebrating and mourning.
Student Health Services
The health services centre is responsible for the provision of health services delivery to the university students and to ensure promotive and preventive programmes concerning communicable diseases, adolescent health services, non-communicable diseases, counselling services and peer education programmes.
