ABOUT RESEARCH AT CHINHOYI UNIVERSITY OF TECHNOLOGY
Chinhoyi University of Technology believes that as an institution of higher education it should be at the forefront of knowledge advancement and dissemination based on a robust research program consonant with the needs of society. The University acknowledges that research is vital for improving the quality of life as well as creating a fertile and stimulating workplace environment. CUT thrives to be a research informed institution that will seek to work with others in the pursuit of knowledge. Improving the research function is a major component of the University's strategic plan. In pursuit of this objective, CUT will establish Centres of Research Excellence in each of its four Schools and one Institute. In all its research endeavours the University will mainstream indigenous knowledge systems and dove-tail into national research imperatives.Governance, leadership and management of research at CUT are provided for through the University's academic structures and systems as indicated below.

Departments are the functional units where all research programmes are carried out. Each department has a research representative who sits on the School/Institute research committee. The function of the School/Institute research committee is to coordinate all research activities across departments in the School/Institute. The chairperson of this committee represents the School in the Research Committee of Senate (RCS) whose major responsibility is to manage research activities on behalf of Senate. The Research Committee of Senate is chaired by the Director of Research and its membership is as follows:
