Introduction

Vision and Mission

The School of Art and Design seeks to create opportunities for excellence in art and design and clothing and textiles needed in Zimbabwe in particular and in the world at large.

The School of Art and Design is committed to the nurturing of creative, proficient and versatile artists and designers in order to meet the demand for highly creative personnel for both the public and the private sectors.

Goals

The School of Art and Design aims at giving students a breadth and depth of understanding of historical, theoretical and philosophical concepts and precepts and technical facilities in their areas of study along with a broad range of professional and entrepreneurial skills.

Duration Of Programmes

All degree programmes are four-year full time courses of study except Bachelor of Technology Education, which takes two years and the Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education that takes three years. Each academic year is made up of two semesters and at the end of each semester, examinations are taken for the courses covered.
The Diploma programmes are three-year full time courses of study except for the Advanced Diploma in Technology, which runs for three semesters. The students are on attachment for at least six months during the second year.
