Department of AGRICULTURAL ENGINEERING

INTRODUCTION

Agricultural Engineering deals with patterns of relationships among organisms and their environments and engineering design to develop processes and systems that influence, control or utilize agricultural materials and organisms for the benefit of society. Engineering fundamentals are applied to achieve the goal of a safe and stable food supply while considering human and environmental factors.
 

Aims

This programme aims to:-
  1. To administer relevant high quality education and training in Agricultural Engineering
  2. To contribute in increasing food production through research and provision of proficient and highly -qualified cadres

Qualifications for entry to programme

Normal Entry:
Candidates should:-
Applicants to the department of Agricultural engineering programme will be accepted providing that they satisfy the entry requirements prescribed under the General Regulations and the following entry requirements:
 
Three Advanced Level passes in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry

OR
 
Three Advanced Level passes in Mathematics, Physics plus any one of the following Computer Studies, Biology, Geography, Technical Drawing or Engineering Drawing

OR
 
Three Advanced Level passes in Mathematics, Chemistry plus any one of the following Biology, Geography, Engineering Drawing, Technical Drawing or Computer Studies.

OR
 
Three Advanced Level passes in Physics, Chemistry plus any one of the following Geography, Computer Studies, Biology, Technical Drawing or Engineering Drawing

Special Entry
Equivalents such as a National Diploma in any one of the following: Mechanical, Civil, Automotive or Agricultural Engineering.
 
Any other qualification deemed equivalent and has been approved by the Senate of the University.
