INTRODUCTION

Agricultural Engineering deals with patterns of relationshipsamong organisms and their environments and engineering design to develop processes and systems that influence, control or utilise agricultural materials and organisms for the benefit of Society. Engineering fundamentals are applied to achieve the goal of a safe and stable food supply while considering human and environmental factors.

The Faculty strives to produce a graduate who is innovative andhighly skilled through quality education, training and research,and to meet national development challenges through technologically biased research and development.

The Faculty offers unique and distinctive programmes that encompass education,training and research in the field of Agricultural Science and Technology.

OBJECTIVES

Administer relevant high quality education and training in Agricultural Engineering. To enhance employment prospects forthe graduates. To contribute in increasing food production through research and provision of proficient and highly. Graduates of the Agricultural Engineering programme have diverse employment opportunities including Agrifood processing industries;agri-equipment and machinery manufacturers;environmental consulting firms; government departments; Agricultural Supply Services, Teaching,etc.

Programme Durations

Eight full time semesters (4 years) two semesters of which the students go for supervised industrial attachment.
