INTRODUCTION

The Bachelor of Technology Honours Degree in Entrepreneurship & Business Management is a four-year full time honours degree programme. The degree programme focuses on Entrepreneurship and management as areas of study.
 

Objectives of the programme

This programme aims to:-

Produce graduates that are innovative, skilled and have the capacity to make effective contribution to the economy Develop business leaders for industry and commerce Instill in students the spirit of entrepreneurship that can assist them initiate their own business ventures. Lay a solid academic foundation for further study in these filed and related areas

Qualifications for entry into the programme

Normal Entry
For normal entry candidates should:-

Have passed at least 5 subjects at O-level including Mathematics or approved equivalents Normally English at O-level would be a requirement Have good passes in at least two subjects at A-level. Preferences will be given to those with commercial related subjects e.g.: Mathematics, Accounting, Economics, Management of Business, Sociology and Geography

Special Entry
Candidates should have at least 5 subjects at O-level including English and Mathematics and be a holder of National Diploma in Business Studies or any other relevant professional area. Candidates may be required to sit for entrance tests before they are approved.

Career opportunities

Graduates have a wide choice of career paths in all sector of the economy e.g., starting their own business enterprises or working as middle to senior mangers in wide industries like retail, manufacturing, dealers, sole traders and tourism and hospitality as well as related jobs in commerce and industry and in the public sector. Most importantly, they can set up their business or set up as consultants. There are also opportunities to go and practice in the region and abroad. Others can pursue higher degrees at this and other universities with a view to becoming academics/lectures and researchers, as well as senior managers in the public and private sector.
