REFERENCE DESK
The Enquiries Desk is the clients’ first port of call for various issues on Library products and services. The desk handles general to specific clients’ requests and is also a good referral point to various enquiries – ranging from; the catalogue, location of books on shelves, clients’ induction, comprehensive literature searches and online searching of electronic resources subscribed by the library.
CIRCULATION SERVICES
The Library offers circulation services, which facilitate physical access to the Library collection. There are different borrowing privileges for Students and Staff. Staff can borrow up to 10 books for a period of one month. Students can borrow a maximum of 5 books for a period of one week.
STUDY SPACES
We provide a variety of study areas to accommodate different ways of studying. Study spaces in the Library are intended for individual quiet studies.
BRING YOUR OWN DEVICE
This study space accommodates a user who wants to bring their own devices. Power points are available to plug your device.
PUBLIC COMPUTERS
These are used by library users and they are intended for research purposes only. Book your time with the Library Systems Assistant.
APPROVED READERSHIP
We also offer library services to our community. We have an approved reader facility for users who are not part of CUT community. Students from other universities can also use our library using the approved reader facility. The approved reader facility is $5 for a month / individual or $50/month for cooperates companies. This fee can also be paid using the interbank rate of the day.

The Online Public Access (OPAC)
The OPAC is a database that lists all books held by the CUT library. OPAC can be used from any computer which has access to the campus wide network. You can search books by author, title or subject.
Lending Services
Borrowing of library materials is open to CUT registered students and staff members through the presentation of a valid CUT ID. Staff can borrow up to 10 books for a period of one month. Students can borrow a maximum of 5 books for a period of one week.
Overdue fines
Books not returned to the Library on time shall attract a fine. Lost or damaged books are charged a non-refundable processing fee plus replacement cost of the book. A person with an overdue book or fine is not allowed to borrow books.
